What about me? That’s a loaded question and really hard to answer. But, here goes…
I’m a Writer, Speaker, Organizer, and I have a passion for Women’s Ministry. But mostly, I’m a mom to twins, Mallory & Riley, and wife to Dave.
I love coffee and shoes, early mornings, crime shows (there is a sickness in that, I’m sure), and travel. When I was growing up I wanted to be a Pediatrician, but that was before I had actually taken any math classes. I’m really bad at math. I got “real” in college and decided to be a nurse instead. Five years later with a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing, I joined the Navy as a Nurse Corps Officer.
I had an awesome mom until I was about 13 years old when addiction and sadness took over her life. She died way too young and today, I navigate this motherhood job with a very fuzzy map.
Flash forward a bunch of years and I am a lot older with some definite eye wrinkles and the twins are teenagers. That’s crazy. Along the way, I have changed careers and spent countless hours stressing over their school years. I have had lots of bad mom days and many, many good ones. The more we get to know each other, you will find that I am venturing this motherhood thing with more questions than answers and a log book of mistakes.
I’m happy to say that I am still married to that guy named Dave that wouldn’t leave me alone until I married him 23 years ago (it’s true…ask him). If I could say one thing to my mom, it would be, “I miss you”.
